I've been trying this technique in MMA for years. It works every single time

Hatsumi, Manaka, Ishizuka, Muramatsu and Seno. all together in the same room for a seminar. that didn't happen much if at all after 1990 especially.

Each time he is compressing the rhythm more and more. If people don't work on their fundamentals, then they will never understand these techniques.

Ninja-to swords were used for a lot of different things. For example, they used it to climb over walls, unlike katanas circular tsuba (hand guard) the Ninja-to tsuba is rectangular to lay on walls and they would step on the tsuba and jump over the wall, and pull it up by their untied sageo (long rope attached to the saya to tie on obi)

Gyokko ryu looks much more useful in full armour than street fight. But with little modifications it is great in modern times too

The techniques are real but They are not being practiced realistically That’s hatsumi’s fault. All techniques are missing steps The attacks are unrealistic I have done the same techniques quite differently with any kind of attack but they wont work the way they are being taught. Thats why I left them I changed it all slightly and it will work in the street. Only thing is I incorporated juujutsu and judo , boxing and okinawan karate. This is embarrassing to see. I travelled and trained with many teachers I wrote all of it down and created henkas With real attacks not this time dilation attacks. Taught my two sons our system. Even changed the name but It is the same techniques. I blame hatsumi
